Friends of Steele Creek Nature Center and Park was recently awarded a generous grant from the Kingsport Community Foundation to purchase educational materials for the Nature Center. The Nature Center, in conjunction with Friends of Steele Creek, has begun the development of a park herbarium. Plants within the park will be gathered, identified and preserved and will be used for scientific, educational, and resource management purposes.
