Earth Week Bristol 2020

April 18 – 25, 2020

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we have had to cancel all of our plans for Earth Week Bristol 2020.

We hope to be able to reschedule many of our planned events later this year. If we are unable to find a time this fall, we will celebrate next year on the 51st anniversary of the first international Earth Day event.

April 22nd, 2020 will mark the 50th anniversary of the original Earth Day. The Bristol community will be commemorating that important occasion with a week-long series of events and activities, all focused on the environment and the importance of caring for it.

A broad coalition of organizations and individuals is currently planning a full schedule of events* to include:

  • A “Teach-in” at the Bristol Public Library, with lectures and discussion, as well as information tables
  • Workshops and other presentations
  • Public Library activities for children, youth, and adults
  • Arbor Day tree-planting celebration
  • Community tree plantings
  • Distribution of sapling trees to elementary school children
  • Steele Creek Park Cleanup Day
  • Interpretive hikes
  • Movies
  • And more…….

* Details for all of these events and activities will be forthcoming.
