Herbarium Day this Saturday

Herbarium Day at Steele Creek Park on September 25 will include guided tours about plant diversity in the region.  Plants to be used in the park herbarium will be collected.

There will be a workshop with hands-on experience identifying, preparing, pressing and mounting plants.  This activity is well suited for high school age and up.  The event is free.  Bring a bagged lunch.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Steele Creek Park Nature Center and Lodge.

Larry McDaniel, assistant park naturalist, and Tim McDowell, Ph.D. of ETSU’s Department of Biological Sciences will conduct the workshop.
