The next monthly “Hike with Commander” will be on Wednesday, 14 October. Meet at the Rooster Front Parking lot on Vance Drive (2:00 pm) for a moderate 3 mile hike which is considered to be one of the easier hikes venturing on the Slagle Hollow side of the park. Total time will be less than 2 hours. Happy trails.

We hope you will join us this weekend! Wildlife Weekend kicks off tomorrow , October 9th , at Legacy Theatres in Bristol, VA for the film premiere of “Ghosts in the Forest,” a captivating new documentary written and directed by Jeremy Stout from The Nature Center at Steele Creek Park.

REMINDER: The Bristol Bird Club will have their monthly walk at Steele Creek Park on Thursday, October 8th. Meet Michele meet at the Mill Creek Parking Lot on Broad Street at 8:30 am. Temps should start out (for this 2 hour walk) in the lower 50’s to upper 60’s. Then, Larry McDaniel will conduct a bird walk for one of our many Wildlife Weekend activities at the Park on Saturday, October 10. That walk starts 9:00 am and meets at the Lodge Parking inside the Park, next to the Nature Center. More information about Wildlife Weekend activities can be found here: www.bristoltn.gov
