The BRISTOL BIRD CLUB will resume their monthly walks at Steele Creek Park on Thursday, September 10th. Meet-up at the Mill Creek Parking Lot on Broad Street, 8:30 AM. All levels and ages are welcome to join us for a two hour+ walk to see what birds are showing up in the area. Fall migration in East TN peaks in September and October for wood warblers, tanagers, vireos, and flycatchers. Broad-winged Hawks could be streaming past mountain ridges. We can’t promise any of the above, but hope you can join us for a relaxed bird walk through the park. More information about the BBC can be found here: https://tnbirds.org/chapters/bristol/
The next “Hike with Commander” will be on Wednesday, 09 September. Meet at the MillCreek parking lot at 2:00pm for a 2.5 mile hike thru the eastern portion of the park. Weather is forecast to be very hot and humid and with the 800 foot elevation gain, results in a moderately difficult rating for this hike. Total time should be 1.5 – 2.0 hours. Hope to see you there. Happy Trails and think Antartica (a place where Harvey has been) or a place coming to us in the near future.
