On February 2nd, the Bristol Tennessee City Council unanimously approved a resolution naming our herbarium the Ruth Clark Herbarium at The Nature Center at Steele Creek Park. Herbarium Day at Steele Creek Park on September 25 will include guided tours about plant diversity in the region. Plants to be used in the park herbarium will be collected. The Nature Center, in conjunction with Friends of Steele Creek, has begun the development of a park herbarium. Plants within the park will be gathered, identified and preserved and will be used for scientific, educational, and resource management purposes.
