We have a hike and a walk at Steele Creek Park this week. The first is a hike with Harvey Anderson (Wednesday, June 11th…meet at Rooster Front Parking area, 2:00 pm) and the following day, a bird walk with the Bristol Bird Club (Thursday, June 12th…meet at the SCP Golf Course parking lot, 8:00 am).

Last week’s Feathered Flyer’s Summer Camp at Steele Creek Park was all about birds! We hiked the woods and heard Wood Thrush, Red-eyed Vireo, Red-belied Woodpeckers, N. Flicker, Eastern Wood-Pewee, Eastern Phoebe, Gray Catbird, Orchard Oriole, and many more.

ATTENTION HIKERS: The Commander (Harvey Anderson) will offer his June hike a week early. Instead of the 3rd Wednesday, the hike will be the 2nd Wednesday, on JUNE 11th. Meet him at ROOSTER FRONT parking lot at 2:00 pm for a 2.5 mile hike on and around the LakeRidge Trail. Total time for the hike should be less than 2 hours. The difficulty of the hike is rated MODERATE due to its relatively short length and moderate elevation gain. Happy Trails to everyone on the 11th of June with Harvey.
