How Can I Help?

There are plenty of opportunities to help Friends of Steele Creek Nature Center and Park.

First, if you are not a member, join today. We depend on our membership to keep us going. Even if you don’t have the time or resources to help us in other ways, your membership is very important to us.

You can make a donation. These days, we are particularly interested in contributions for our Nature Center Expansion Project, but we also depend on donations for our ongoing support of other Nature Center educational, research, and conservation activities. Gifts in honor or in memory of others are always welcome. Click here for more information on donating by check or online!

Spread the word. Let your friends and neighbors know about the exciting things going on at Steele Creek Park – especially the expansion and enhancement of the Nature Center!

Help as a volunteer. Take a look at our ongoing projects and activities. We need help with everything from trail work to fundraising. One example of our ongoing projects is the gardens around the Nature Center, including our butterfly garden and our new native plants garden. Volunteers are always needed for helping with planting, weeding, labeling plants, and other maintenance activities. The gardens are approved for Master Gardener volunteer hours. The work can be done either during the day or in the evenings.

Contact us by e-mail (mail@friendsofsteelecreek.org) if you’re interested in helping in any capacity as a Friends volunteer.
